There
are only three hotels for lodging within Tikal Park boundaries.
All
are near
the
parking lot and a few hundred yards from the The
Jaguar Inn: The Jaguar Inn is the most economical of
the three. It is only a 10 minute walk
from the ruins. The entrance
to the hotel is dominated by the traditional thatched roofed
restaurant building and its outdoor tables. The bungalows are set off
discreetly to one side, surrounded by lush tropical jungle. There are 9 Bungalows with
private
bathrooms, hot water, ceiling fans, and porch hammocks. The restaurant is
open to the public. The hotel also offers hammocks for rent, a
small camping area behind the restaurant, and they offer money exchange
and internet service.
Jungle
Lodge: The Lodge offers 39 spacious rooms that
have two double
beds, and private bathrooms with hot water.
High ceilings keep the rooms cool and each bungalow has its own small
porch with chairs. The hotel is ideally situated
within the Tikal National Park and offers the closest accommodations to
the temples and pyramids. A swimming pool shaped like a Mayan
Temple
will help you to relax after your day of walking and climbing the
temples. Tikal
Inn: The Inn offers 16 rooms that have private
bathrooms and
are clean and simple. The accommodations at the Tikal Inn include hot and
cold showers, two double beds, ceiling fans, and private porchs. The Tikal Inn also
has a swimming pool and in the hotel gardens you can admire the
keel-billed toucans, howler and spider monkeys, and various other
species of wild life native to the Peten Jungle.
